this cut out method seems far better suited, I’ll need to experiment with both to find the most successful visual setup for the video.

This has convinced me to work for the barbie look with red lips rather than to desaturate everything but the lips.  Visually it doesn’t entice me, the fleshy tones will give a better platform for the work.  The red on black and white brings a completely different character to the video.
